Route of St. James.

Hiking along the pilgrim's path has become more and more popular.

Route of St. James

The Route of St. James or the so-called Schwabenweg from Fischingen to Einsiedeln leads past Hörnli mountain to Steg and further on to Rapperswil. The pilgrim's path is specifically identified as a cultural route.

The Route of St. James guides the pilgrims on less frequented side streets and alleys through cities and larger villages, many of them carrying on a long pilgrimage tradition, passing beautiful cathedrals and city churches and remarkable cultural-historical sights. Outside of densely populated and partly industrialised places, the pilgrims move in a landscape that is marked by agriculture and fruit cultivation on quiet country lanes and forest tracks, through fields and meadows, forests and wooded ravines.

On the route
The Route of St. James takes you past Fischingen monastery, the Hörnli mountain restaurant and the Voland confectionery.
